Here I am, counting down the days until 2025, and while one reason is because I will be with friends as we watch the ball drop, it’s mostly because it’s when I can hand off my children to the SAINTS aka their teachers. This winter break has been particularly long because we didn’t get away (besides NYC for a few days thankfully), and for all the other reasons that come with having 4 kids.
For example, I’m sitting here writing this substack amidst the following noises: “mom!” “OW!” “MOM” “STOP!” “moooooommmm.” “I need to go potty.” “MAMAAAAAA.” “I tooted.” “MOMMMMYYYY!!” “Asher pushed me!” “MOM!” You get the picture.
And yet another sign of this “when am I” time period is the revolving door of pajamas and sweatpants and pajamas and sweatpants that I find myself wearing day after groundhog day. Therefore, I thought I would offer a roundup of my favorite pajamas that have made it to the top of my rotation this week.
My go to, most favorite pajamas EVER are from the GAP (long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, short, or pant). There was a time, probably 5+ years ago when I was a loyalist to the classic Eberjey Gisele pajama set. And while they will always hold a special place in my heart, they do not hold one single Hanukah candle to the PJ sets from the GAP. The materiel from the GAP is beyond soft (softer than Eberjey), cool to the touch, washes beyond well (better than Eberjey), all-weather appropriate, and never leaves my newly 40+ self HOT in the middle of the night. (to be discussed in a much later post when I’m more comfortable in substack land.) They’re honestly just….PERFECT. I wouldn’t change a thing about them! Not to mention, the price is so good and there’s always some promotion going on to make them even cheaper.
I do have a few runner ups to the above that I like to wear depending on the circumstances:
If I want to wear a something silky and a bit more fun I love this set from petite plume: I’m not usually someone who wears a ton of print or color, but there’s something about silk pajamas that makes it feel right.
If I want to wear more of a lounge set vs. true pajamas, it’s always this whipped top & pant from Negative. The whipped materiel from Negative deserves a post to itself as my obsession is real.
And just for fun, I’m adding a few of my favorite slippers that I wear on repeat, and buy similar ones if need be:
